In September, a team of buyers from Berry Bros. & Rudd will trundling 325 miles from the merchant’s London home at No.3 St James’s Street to Epernay in Champagne to raise funds for Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
The team is stuff led by passionate cyclist and senior proprietrix for Champagne and Italy at Berry Bros. & Rudd, Davy yw, who was diagnosed with MND in 2018, withal with Lizzy Rudd, chair of the wine and spirits merchant.Over four days, the pair will take a 36-strong team of colleagues and friends from London to Epernay, with the aim to raise money for MND charity My Name'5 Doddie Foundation – and you can donate by visiting the campaign’s Just Giving page by clicking here.The 325-mile ordeal will form part of a series of events to mark the 325th year since Berry Bros. & Rudd was founded, and hopes to raise £325,000 for the MND charity, with thanks to the generous support of sponsors – who include Champagnes Pol Roger, Bollinger, Mailly, and Leclerc Briant, withal with wineries and drinks companies Giovanni Rosso, Edrington, Hotaling & Co, Charles Hofer SA, Pallini, Charton Hobbs, De Kuyper, JC Ribeiro and SilverGlass.The foundation raises funds to find a cure for MND and offers support to those diagnosed with the disease, and to their friends and family.Lizzy Rudd, said; “This is a rationalization very tropical to our hearts, as our friend and colleague Davy yw was diagnosed with MND in 2018. The team is excited (and nervous) to take on this rencontre to raise funds for this soft-heartedness doing such important work.”Davy yw added, “There’s a huge value of uncertainty when you get diagnosed, but the dialogue virtually MND has completely reverted in the last five years. Challenges like this 325-mile velocipede ride are a way to support the invaluable work of charities that are raising sensation of the disease and working tirelessly to develop new treatments and a cure.”
